Then the Lord said to Gideon, "By these three hundred men, I will save Israel, and deliver the enemy into your hands." Judges 7:7
Gideon is recognized as one of Israel's great deliverers. God first called Gideon to deliver the nation of Israel from the oppressive hand of the Midianites, while he threshed wheat in a wine press. He was attempting to hide his harvest from the enemy-hardly the act of a bold daring man. However, Gideon gathered himself and accepted the responsibility given to him by the angel of the Lord. With no ready army and no leadership experience, Gideon would not seem to be the obvious choice to lead Israel against the Midianite army that numbered in the hundreds of thousands. Yet, we can clearly see a key component to his success, the 300 men that God surrounded him with.
There are so many measuring sticks to success. Coventional wisdom says there is strength in numbers. Then again, success is not always determined by how many people stand with a man, but by having the right people to stand with him. Though greatly outnumbered, it was the partnership of these 300 committed warriors that enabled Gideon to secure Israel's freedom by defeating the Midianites. Their partnership enabled Gideon to fulfill God's vision and plans. Together they made history and were for ever known as "Gideon's Valiant 300!"
Thankfully, God has place us in a strategic moment in our ministry. Opportunities have presented themselves for us to complete the work on our Ministry World Headquarters here in Kinston, North Carolina. We have never placed great emphasis on a partnership program in the past, but the battle over souls of men and women still rages, and like Gideon, we must be on the front lines. We are believing God for the 300 Army of Partners (individuals, churches and businesses) to support us prayerfully and with a seed gift of a minimum of $30. The 300 men who fought with Gideon enjoyed the same honor as he did. Partnership is a covenant relationship of mutual blessings. We believe every open door, blessing, breakthrough, every soul saved and life touched is extended and credited to our partners.
